I'm actually mad that it's not polyphonic and doesn't have a bit more modulation / envelopes and general tweakability, so i'm kinda torn about buying it now. And i honestly think i never heard a more realistic emulation of detuned oscs beating, not that it's the most pleasing thing in the world, and take it with a grain of salt, but it felt quite realistic. yeah, the world probably doesn't need another minimoog clone, and commenting on the quality of the emulation is not something i feel i'm qualified to do but, that said, sounds quite good. Whoa, i just played with monark at a friend's studio and it's really good. In short, just make Maschine a daw already! I greatly appreciate programs tailored to specific tasks, but some of the omissions feel like they are only there to help sell another program. It's actually kinda frustrating or immersion breaking, to have arbitrary feeling distinctions between products that are using the same underlying tech. With all the overlap on NI's products I hope Komplete X is all about integration of effects and samples between products and transparency. Same issue that keeps me from trying Omnisphere too. There are probably 2 -3 gigs of samples I'd like to play with, but even if I had the room I don't want to spend all day installing everything.

I have too many of my own recordings on my drive to make room for the sample content, maybe someday. I'd be interested to read how Battery 4 maps with Maschine.

Why do I care if the A row is brighter than the D row.īugs get fixed, you want a software drum sample solution and don't have anything else, maybe worth it. The rendering would be a must buy feature if there were more effects, like say everything in guitar rig.ĭrop light background of your sample slots is ridiculous. With the new filters, effects per cell, switching cell via MIDI notes, and whatnot with render to cell it's quick and fun to make your own percussion sounds from one sample. Render to cell would be brilliant if it wasn't the main cause of my crashes. Waveform editor is much improved and needs to come to Kontakt.

You now have visual differentiation between moving or copying a sample and it's no longer a green plus no matter what, which is very nice. (logic 10.7, seemingly anything to do with samples on the disk I should try saving more.) I was never a big user of 3, so I can't do a 1:1 comparison.

Not something I'd upgrade for (yet?).Īnd I should do a restart, but Battery 4 is crashy as hell. My theory is v10 will see reaktor 6 with Monark tech integrated in an easy to use manner. Monark is okay, good sound, low CPU usage, not super hackable and I'd rather use the filters and distortions on any of NI's other synths. By the way, Skanner is very cool and underrated! I stuck with Skanner free rather than XT, otherwise it'd be more expensive. I bought razor half off at the holiday sale, so it's basically the same as a normal Komplete update. Between all the stuff that was already in komplete 8 between v5, it was worth it and cheaper!*
